Sílvia Mendonça

Sílvia Mendonça is a Portuguese composer interested in sound as a vehicle for social and individual transformation. Her artistic work focuses on collaborative and co-creative contexts with other composers, performers, visual artists, dancers, choreographers, writers and actors. She completed her PhD in musical composition at the University of Aveiro in 2022. Her research explores teaching and learning methodologies applied to the auditory experience, in conjunction with the practice of collaborative musical composition. He has been a member of the Contemporary Music Research Group (GIMC), part of CESEM – Centre for Music Studies, FCSH, NOVA University Lisbon, since 2023, and is a member of the European Society for Cognitive Sciences of Music (ESCOM) and the Regional Network for Psychology and Music (RNPaM).
