Born in Torres Novas, Simão Quinta completed his 8th Grade in Transverse Flute at the Choral Phydellius Music Conservatory in 2022, specialising in music. At the same institution, he was part of the Adult Choir, under the direction of conductor João Branco, performing works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Sciences at NOVA FCSH in 2025, having interned at the Laboratório de Preservaçao e Restauro de Aúdio (LaPRA), under the guidance of Professor Isabel Pires (PhD). He is currently continuing his studies at the same institution, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Musical Arts. His research interests focus on Music Preservation and the Sociology of Music, and he’s been part of the Contemporary Music Research Group (GIMC) at the Centre for Music Studies (CESEM) since 2023.
