Christine Wassermann Beirão

Christine Wassermann Beirão did her Magister Artium in Musicology and Anglistics at Technical University of Berlin and her doctorate in Musicology at the same University. She was lecturer for this subject at University of Arts in Berlin and participated in the project of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), “The Work of Olivier Messiaen and its influence on contemporary music”, as research associate. Afterwards, she was director of the music section of Guardini Foundation in Berlin.
Presently, she is researching in the estates of portuguese composers, mainly that of José Vianna da Motta, about whom she has published three books and some articles in Germany and Portugal. Her Catalogue of the musical manuscripts of Luiz Costa was edited last year. As postdoctoral scholar of FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) she ist an Integrated Researcher of CESEM, Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
