2nd [virtual] Symposium NEGEM – MUSIC GENRE MEDIA 2020

29/06/2020 - 30/06/2020

When we defined the theme of this symposium, which marks the 8th year of life of this group of studies, we were very far from predicting that our social existence would be the target of such a profound transformation, with an impact on all its dimensions, including the models of perception and production of music and the ways in which it weaves our daily lives and subjectivities. Throughout our journey, we have intensified, in our works and projects, the attention given to the media nature of musical communication at the intersection with gender policies in interactionist perspectives. This symposium punctuates this process, and starts a new stage of NEGEM in the post-Covid 19 era. At a time when concert halls, festivals, theaters, bars, clubs and clubs, music schools … were so unexpectedly and drastically emptied of all human activity and that even our academic meetings continue to remain at a distance, we must also focus on our reflection on aspects of change and continuity.

The present symposium is a space for meeting and discussing ideas, projects in progress, investigations in which colleagues, researchers, students and other interested parties share concerns and interests in the targeted scope. In the mornings of June 29th and 30th, in Zoom’s multimedia scene, 14 communications, a debate, a round table and a musical moment can be heard live, according to the attached program. Assistance to the colloquium, and participation in the moments of debate, is free and free, just for that purpose, send a message, with name and email, to the email negemus.cesem@gmail.com, requesting the link that guarantees this participation. .
