Biography
Born in Salzburg, daughter of 2 lyric singers studying then in Austria. Starting the music studies at the age of 3 in violin, fast wanted to study also Piano, Pipe organ, Harp and at the age of 19 chooses Voice as her instrument.
Doctor in Performance from Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Master in Theatre Studies from the University of Sheffield, England and in Body Mapping and Alexander Technique by the American Teachers Society from the Colorado University in Boulton, USA.
1st prize of the National Lyric Singing Competition Luisa Todi in 1993 and 1st prize of the National Portuguese Musical Youth Competition in 1998.
In Opera, performed all the principal roles for her voice and same happen in Oratorio and Lied. In Contemporaneous Music, stands out her performances as Miss Donnithorne’s Maggot by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Sequenza III by Luciano Berio.
Has performed as Soloist  several World premieres by Portuguese composers, recorded several CDs standing out the Requiem to the memory of the victims of fascism by Fernando Lopes Graça with the S. Petersburg Orchestra, directed by her Father Mário Mateus.
Has performed as Soloist with all the principal Portuguese Orchestras and abroad with the El Salvador National Symphonic Orchestra, the Maracaibo Symphonic Orquestra, S. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Baucau Philharmonic Orchestra. Worked among other Directors with Sir Neville Marriner, Omri Hadari, Michaell Zilm, José Ramon Encinar, Fréderic Chaslin, Ivor Bolton.
As composer, wrote the Opera monologue Brites de Almeida, for Voice and Percussion, with world premiere in V.N. Gaia in 2011. As a Stage Director, directed several Operas, being the last one Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart at São Luiz Theater in Lisbon in 2016.
After being coordinator of the Singing Course of the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, is actually the President of the Pedagogic Council at the same University and teaches the classes of Singing, Scenic Interpretation, Movement and Practices of Opera.
