“The Piano and its perspectives” is a project that addresses not only the piano instrument, but the influence of music on human history. Every week internationally recognized personalities will be interviewed, through the official YouTube of the Federal University of Goiás. This is an extension project that was created to offer for the music students from EMAC-UFG during non-face-to-face classes, a differentiated contact with artists and musical ideas, however, due to the breadth of the theme, will attend to matters of interest to the community in general. The project starts on the 5th of June at 4:30 pm in Brazil and at 8:30 pm in Portugal with one of the greatest pianists of today, Cristian Budu. In 2016, Budu released his first commercial solo CD, for the Claves label, in Europe, which soon won importants awards, such as “Editor’s Choice” in the English magazine Gramophone. In 2017, he was named in the Top 10 Chopin Recordings and Top 10 Recent Beethoven Recordings list by Gramophone Magazine, alongside artists such as Maria João Pires and Martha Argerich.
The Project has the realization of the School of Music and Performing Arts at UFG, Digital Rectory and support from the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal, Center for Studies in Sociology and Musical Aesthetics and Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
