NOVA FCSH
António Brás is a recently graduated student in Musical Sciences from NOVA-FCSH, having completed the course on June 27, 2024, with a classification of 16. He entered the master’s degree in Musical Arts in NOVA-FCSH, which he will begin, in post-work regime, in September of the 2024-2025 academic year.
In addition to having a degree in Musical Sciences, he also graduated in Biology, having decided to switch to the field of music shortly after completing it in 2018.
He is currently also a keyboard musician in classical and contemporary genres, such as pop-rock and Jazz, and recently started learning singing.
António’s fascination with music began when he was 13-14 years old and slowly improved. At first, although he didn’t take classes or attend the conservatory, he tried to copy the movements of the pianists he found playing on platforms like YouTube. Since then, he also had his first contact with music production software in 2013.
As soon as he finished his degree in Biology, he attended the Music Creation and Production course in the 2018-2019 academic year in World Academy school, in which he acquired foundations that go hand in hand with music technologies and work in a music studio.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, he took advantage of his time at home to take online training on musical theory and improving his piano technique, components that proved to be a great asset in his career in the following years, and he attended, in the same years as the degree in Musical Sciences, the Luís Villas-Boas Jazz School, which belongs to the oldest Jazz club in our country, Hot Clube de Portugal.
António also completed a curricular internship at the National Music Museum in 2023, which provided him with some foundations on how to treat collections in a museum context, more specifically musical articles.
