Discover ‘POP’, the new Portal for the Portuguesa Opera

POP – Portal da Ópera Portuguesa (Portal for the Portuguesa Opera) – promises to be a tool for making Portuguese opera accessible, raising awareness of it and promoting it, from its earliest days to the present day. It will be launched on April 28 at 6.00 pm in the Auditorium of the National Library. Admission is free, subject to seating availability.

Taking part in the discussion and debate on the paradigm shift regarding access to information on the repertoire, composers, history and evolution of Portuguese opera over time will be CESEM researchers David Cranmer (Music in the Modern Period Group, Opera Studies Thematic Line) and Paula Gomes-Ribeiro (Research Group for the Study of Music, Critical Theory and Communication, Opera Studies Thematic Line), as well as the project’s creators (including João Figueiredo Costa) and composer António Chagas Rosa.
