The Music Archive of the Casa de Bragança Museum-Library is a collection of invaluable importance for music/musicology both nationally and internationally due to its size, variety and chronological scope, as well as its institutiona,l and personal connection to the family of the Dukes of Bragança, Portuguese monarchs between 1640 and 1910. This project carried out in partnership between the Fundação da Casa de Bragança (FCB) and the Centre for the Study of the Sociology and Aesthetics of Music (CESEM/NOVA FCSH) aims, on the one hand, to catalogue the several thousand manuscripts and printed scores in the Archive, and on the other, to disseminate them through scientific and artistic events, as well as related publications.
